ALL REHEARSAL DATES ARE MANDATORY!

We are all guests at the Performing Arts Center. Please keep an eye on all your children throughout these Rehearsals, including your dancers! We are not the only group on campus during rehearsals and we don’t want to disrupt the other functions.

NO FOOD OR DRINKS IN THE AUDITORIUM!!!!

 

Rehearsal –

Tuesday, May 25th, 2010 at Governor's 4pm

This Rehearsal will begin with a brief question and answer session at 4:00 in the auditorium. This time will be used to answer any questions or concerns you have, so as not to disrupt the flow of Dress Rehearsal or Samantha in an attempt to get all students through the dress rehearsal in a timely fashion.

The Rehearsal is to give all of the dancers some exposure to the stage and its surroundings before the show. Every student is required to attend this Rehearsal. Plenty of Notice has been given and no exceptions will be allowed. Students are to be dressed in their normal dance attire. No costumes should be worn at this Rehearsal. Students should arrive 15 minutes before their scheduled stage time in order to stretch and warm up. Once your student has completed rehearsing all of their dances, they are free to go. The Rehearsal schedule is as follows:

4:00 -- Q and A

4:10 -- Creative Movement

4:15 -- Thursday Ballet

4:20 - Saturday Ballet

4:30- Thursday Jazz

4:40-- Thursday Tap

4:50 -- Saturday Tap

5:00-- Tuesday Tap

5:10 -- Thursday ballet/tap combo

5:20 -- Tuesday jazz

5:30 -- Tuesday Ballet

5:40-6:00 -- Finale Dancers

6:00-6:15 -- Wednesday Hip/Hop l

6:15- ?? -- Wednesday Hip Hop ll, Tap, Style

 

Dress Rehearsal –

Wednesday May 26th, 2010 at Govenor’s - 5 pm

Dress Rehearsal is in full costume and make-up. Every student is required to attend this rehearsal. Your child should be ready to dance and be photographed for the Studio Picture (which will be orderable this year!) at 5:00. I recommend arriving with hair and make-up complete, leaving only the costume to put on upon arrival. This ensures your child will not have become uncomfortable in their costume before it is their time on stage or for pictures.

These rehearsals are long days for dancers. Packing activities and games for your children will help the day run smoother. Please be patient and understanding, although I attempt to keep on schedule I can not plan for the unexpected.

At 5: 00 The Studio Shot will be taken on stage!

If your child is in Act I, They must report to the Black Box to line up with their Class Chaperones immediately following the Studio Photo. All other Students and parents will be asked to exit the auditorium.

Students who are waiting for Act II may take line up to take individual photos at this time. Please note, if you are still in line when Act II begins, the performance will go on with out your child.

After your child has performed they will be escorted back to Picture Area to take their group photo. where you can pick them up and providing they are not in the finale or any other number you will be free to leave!

The schedule for the Dress Rehearsal will be the same as the Recital and will be posted that day. Stage exits and entrances will occur as if it is the day of the performance.

During the Dress Rehearsal, Dancers and Parents will NOT be allowed in the auditorium to watch. Please be respectful of The Performing Arts Center and keep your noise level to a minimum while waiting in the lobby.

Videotaping will NOT be allowed at Dress Rehearsal. You will not be allowed to take pictures or Video tape during the final performance. This will be strictly enforced.

Dress rehearsal is in full costume. All dancers must have their proper shoes, tights (PLEASE no underwear or jewelry) and all props. Make sure your child’s make up is applied heavy enough so that it is visible from stage. Remember, they will be under bright lights and at a distance from the audience.

Recommended Make-up:
1. Blue or Violet Eye Shadow
2. Black Eyeliner
3. Red or Dark Pink Blush
4. Hot pink or Red Lipstick
5. Black Mascara

Your child’s Hair must also be pulled back at Dress Rehearsal. Pony tails are the minimum requirement unless you have been told otherwise.

The tight requirement for the show is:

      Capezio Light Suntan

Ballet classes including Dancing Sheep and Goodship:

      Capezio Ballet Pink

Tights will be available for purchase at the studio the week of costume fittings.

Professional Pictures –

Marc Lawrence shoots many Dance Studios throughout Area and they do a great job! Picture Package information is available at the studio. There will be a customer service representative available to help you fill out the order form that day of Dress Rehearsal

Professional pictures will be taken at Dress Rehearsal. This will ensure that all group and individual photos will be complete and available. Even if you are not purchasing any pictures your child must take the group photo.

A 2010 Adagio Dance Studio Recital Picture will be the first shot taken promptly at 5:00, Class photos will be taken immediately after they perform on stage. All students are to report to the designated area in full costume and make up to be featured in the group pictures. Group photos will get first priority.

If you miss either group photographs, there will not be a retake!

Majestic Video Productions -

Majestic is back to document this year’s event! He comes highly recommended and not only tapes the show but also includes clips from the Rehearsal’s and Backstage action. He is the only one allowed to video tape the recital and dress rehearsal. Please do not be disrespectful. If you are caught video taping in the auditorium, you will be asked to turn off your camera.

The Big Day -

Saturday, May 29th, 2010 at Govenor’s Performance at 2:00 pm

Dancers should arrive by 1:30 on the day of the Final Performance. The Show will start promptly at 2:00pm. Once your child is ready to go on stage, Please Sign in your child and leave them with the chaperones in Black Box.

No parents are allowed in the Black box unless you are a Chaperone.

Once you have signed in your child, you will be able to pick up your child until the performance is over.

Once you have picked up your child, you will not be able to sign your child back in the Black Box. Adults that are not Chaperones will not be allowed back stage. This is to avoid confusion and make sure all children are safe and sound with the proper guardians.

Intermission is a busy time back stage. We gather the children for Act II. It is important that you do not come back stage or to the black box at this time.

No Videos or flash photography will be permitted the day of the final performance. It is very distracting to those on stage. Please remain in your seat when the dancers are performing. Standing up as well as crowding the aisles and the first row will block the view of others. Please be respectful of all of our Dancers and their families.

The doors in the Auditorium will open between acts only, and never when any dancers are on stage. It is a distraction to those who are on stage as well as the audience. Plan your bathroom exits and entrances well. Parents have missed their child performing because the doors were closed.

Entering and exiting the auditorium will only occur through the rear doors. If you are a parent who must get up frequently to assist your children, please be mindful of the others around you by choosing an empty aisle seat toward the rear of the auditorium during these times.

No Dancer will be allowed to enter the auditorium in costume.

 

Finale -

If you would like to participate in this year’s Finale, please sign up at the studio. Participating in the Finale will require you to stay till the end of the show as well as attend the rehearsals in May.

You will also be required to wear your dance shoes and a few simple items that you probably already have at home.

There are a few items you will have to purchase this year and they will be announced at the Finale practice

Ticket Sales
One day only!
Tickets for the 2010 Dance Recital will go on sale…

Tickets will be sold at the Dance Studio
Please Mark Your Calendar!!

1. Seats for the show are reserved. You select, pay for, and receive your ticket on May 2nd. Tickets must be paid for in cash.

2. Outstanding balances not paid for before this day must also be paid in cash in order to purchase tickets. This includes MayTuition!

3. Tickets are $14.00 each. There is no maximum purchase. No one is allowed to purchase tickets for another student’s family.

4. Dancers will not be allowed in the Audience, so there is no need to purchase them a ticket.

5. At 11:00, I will open the doors, hand out numbers, and begin taking ticket orders. If you number is called and you are no on the premises, you will lose your spot in line.

6. Tickets will also be sold at the door the day of the show, if you have a last minute person who would like to attend.
